The GE-Emerson IC660BBD100 Genius 8-Circuit Grouped I/O Block includes circuits that can each individually ask as input, tri-state input, or output. A separate power supply is not required.

Genius blocks are designed to operate over the Genius LAN network, providing a reliable OS if a CPU, bus interface, or network cable experiences a communication failure. Genius blocks automatically switch to a backup CPU in the case of two or more CPUs operating concurrently in a redundant configuration, if there is a communication failure with the main controller.

Genius I/O blocks are considered "open equipment." They must be installed within protective housing and kept in an area with suitable airflow free of contaminants.
