Description
The GE-Emerson IC697RCM711 Series 90-70 Redundancy Communications Module serves as a pathway for transmitting synchronization messages from the active unit to the backup unit. Additionally, it facilitates the exchange of shared I/O data between both units. The module includes two connectors, one positioned on the top and another on the bottom. The top connector is utilized for connecting the upstream BTM or BRM, while the bottom connector remains unused. With a current requirement of 0.7 amps, the IC697RCM711 module is configured using MS-DOS software. It boasts a high-speed parallel bus interface and supports Hot Standby and Hot Standby CPU Redundancy system configurations.
The IC697RCM711 module occupies a single slot within slots 2-9. The LEDs on the module are designated as Board OK, Local Ready, Local Active, Remote Ready, and Remote Active. Furthermore, the IC697RCM module is furnished with a pushbutton, enabling the user to manually transition from the active unit to the backup unit. This facilitates maintenance on the previously active unit while the system remains online. Following a switch, the system imposes a 10-second restriction before another switch can be executed.
