The Allen-Bradley 1762-IQ8 MicroLogix DC Discrete Input Module is suitable for use in an industrial environment, specifically clean, dry environments (Pollution degree 2) and to circuits not exceeding Over Voltage Category II (IEC 60664-1). 

The 1762-IQ8 is a single-slot module and serves as an expansion to the MicroLogix controller. The number of module instance depends on the hardware support of the host MicroLogix controller. Compatible controllers for this module include MicroLogix 1100, 1200, 1400, and 1500. 

The module supports DIN rail or direct panel mounting. When mounting the module, the installation clearance must be followed specifically, 2in on all sides, to ensure the appropriate working space is maintained and natural flow of cooling air and ventilation is maintained.
