The Allen-Bradley 1747-L524 SLC 500 Controller Processor is an SLC 5/02 controller, and supports analog, digital, scanner modules (including DeviceNet, ControlNet, and Universal Remote I/O), specialty, and intelligent I/O modules. It is not compatible with the 1746-BLM or -MPM modules. While EEPROM modules may be used, no additional data storage may be added to this processor. A built-in DH-485 communication port can receive and initiate instructions, but a 1747-PIC is required if the port is connected for programming. The built-in user-replaceable battery has a 2 year estimated lifespan, and the processor is open-enclosure and can be mounted using a chassis.
