The Allen-Bradley 1791DS-IB12 Guard I/O DeviceNet Safety Input Module implements the CIP-safety protocol extensions over DeviceNet networks and provides various features for a safety system. 

The module can be used to construct a safety-control network system that meets the requirements up to SIL 3 as defined in IEC 61508, Functional Safety of Electrical, Electronic, and Programmable Electronic Safety-related Systems, and the requirements for Safety Category 4 of the EN 954-1 standard, Safety of machinery - Safety related parts of control systems. The module can be vertically or horizontally mounted.
