The Cognex DMR-8700DQ-BT Handheld Barcode Reader is designed to operate well in harsh manufacturing environments, reliably reading imperfect direct part markings (DPMs) and label-based codes while withstanding oil, water, dirt, and repeated collisions. Setup, scan, and feedback review is done quickly with a built-in OLED display and a range of industrial protocols and communication options.

The 8700 includes resilient IP67-rated housing, adhering to ISO oil-resistance standards and functioning in up to one meter of water. The reader can withstand multiple drops from 2.5m onto concrete.
